Can Bullying Lead to a Depressive Disorder?
Bullying is a chronic problem in elementary and high school. It can sometimes lead to depression and create lifelong damage to a child. People who were bullied in school most often suffer from low self esteem as adults. Some kids even resort to the unthinkable of taking their own lives.
In this case it isn’t just the bullying that pushed them to the extreme. They already were depressed as an effect of constantly being picked on throughout their school life. Sadly bullying can lead to a major depressive disorder and unless school authorities can put a stop to it, we will continue to see children who suffer from it.
