Toe fungus laser treatment is something that is becoming more and more popular. The fungal infection in the toe nails is due to a bug that thrives in darkness and moisture, which is the exact environment that we have in the shoes. The current treatments available include topical drugs applied to the nail plate and drugs that are taken internally. Despite what may be a good success rate, the recurrence rate is extremely high as the bugs still love the dark and moist environment inside shoes. There are unsupported claims that the laser therapy does have a lower recurrence rate. This is yet to be tested.
