I have some things that I have been wanting to learn on guitar for a while. Maybe once I find out what works the best, I will be able to get an expert to help me with learning some alternate picking tips. I know that I am pretty good at picking things up very soon. Maybe then I will be better at it, and I will be able to play all the songs that I want to play. I am so good at the things I have learned already, and if I can get a few tips from the experts, I will be even better.

For many events, customized comedy gets the biggest laughs and greatest reactions from the audience. One of the best ways to tailor a show to a specific group is to use professional comedians who can perform improv comedy. Improv comedy is more than just asking the audience to yell out a current event. Accomplished improv comedians – with corporate experience – can structure their show so that suggestions highly relevant to the group are given by the audience. Then, the scenes and acts that follow will address, in a hilarious way, issues and ideas that the attending crowd are highly interested in watching – and laughing at.

I have owned many different guitars in my life from squires to custom top of the line boutique guitars. A few months ago I was in the mood to try something new. I started looking online and I found Bunker Guitars. I’ve heard of Bunker here and there for years, but I had never personally tried them. Their instruments looked amazing, but their top of the line instruments were a bit out of my price range considering the current economic crisis. However, something caught my eye and it was their replacement guitar necks. They claimed that this neck alone could turn your guitar into a new instrument. I decided to try it out. For under $200 bucks I figured this was a safe way to try out a piece of Bunker. I had them install a Strat type replacement neck on a generic guitar I had kicking around.

My impressions when it arrived were that it was very strange to have a two piece neck (the neck is completely free from the headstock), but once I plugged this former “toy” into my Marshall . . . this toy was transformed into a respectable instrument. I couldn’t believe how this cheap instrument was now singing like a high quality custom shop Fender. I am seriously considering trying one of these necks out on my custom shop Fender.

In my younger days, there was no way I would have ever thought that a pen could be beautiful. After all, they are only meant to be a means to and end — a way to write down thoughts and other important things — right?

I can now admit that I was wrong in that thinking. There are some Vintage Pens that are true works of art. Their makers spent hours upon hours designing the perfect ones — putting their heart and soul into an instrument they knew people would use to pour out their OWN heart and soul on paper.

When you are planning your Big Apple wedding, and are ready to start examining new york city wedding photography talent, keep an eye out for Angela Cappetta. We at Bridal Board recently interviewed Cappetta at the latest trade show, AIPAD, and cornered her long enough to ask her a few must-know questions:

BB: “What advice do you have for brides looking for documentary style wedding photography?”

AC: Every client/artist relationship is deifferent. It just needs to feel right. Not only does the client need to love the photographer’s work, but they need to like her as a person. Remember, your relationship with your photographer is the longest vendor relationship a bridal couple will have.

BB: Can you give brides reading this any advice on what to spend?

AC: Generally, wedding photography is ten to fifteen percent of the entire wedding budget. However, some of my brides buy J Crew dresses to be able to afford me because I am more of a priority for them than a dress. Once, a bride of mine cancelled her plans to buy a five thousand dollar gown and got a thirty five dollar vintage dress on ebay so she could afford me. I was so flattered. Needless to say, she looked amazing. Her pictures by the way, were fantastic. Some of my best ever.

Like it or not, the way the young adults of today are meeting each other is online. One of the tools they will use is some of the paid dating sites that are available to join. These sites are a way to filter out personal likes, dislikes, habits, and beliefs ahead of time. It is a kind of time saver in some ways. So if a non-smoker is a deal breaker, you will not be put on the list of a smoker. This saves the young adult of today from having to use the bar scene as their primary way of meeting someone.

I have three wonderful children that mean the world to me and I do all that I can to give them every available opportunity they deserve.  Sometimes I don’t have all the money I would like to give them what they want, but I make sure they have a good supply of quality children books on hand.  In my opinion, reading is key to a children’s academic success.  I have found a site online that sells the type of books that I want them to read at really affordable prices.  The books are fun and entertaining and are educational as well.

One of my favorite photographers worked in the news industry for many years but still could photograph anything and make it look interesting.  Since the recession began, he has been able to offset the lack of news assignments by shooting all sorts of events and portraits.  Being diverse has surely kept him afloat during these tough times.  I guess it just goes to show you that there’s always room for you if you’re good or have some specific skills others don’t.  Diversity looks to be the best way to succeed these days.
